MSCHF rock candy ring reveals real lab-grown diamond on sterling silver band once it melts

Rock Candy ring by MSCHF with real diamond

MSCHF Rock Candy ring unveils a real lab-grown diamond on a sterling silver band once the user sucks on and melts it. In time for and to be delivered on Valentine’s Day, the stunt and sold-out accessory comes in three flavors: blue raspberry cotton candy, strawberry, and green apple. MSCHF first grows their own 0.75 carat diamond from their laboratory. They insert it into the sterling silver band, which is the base of the candy.

Then, they turn the seven grams of sugar into a hard rock candy for the ring. Once that’s done, they cover the ring with the candy and seal it in a packaging. It’s not a Valentine’s Day ring without making it special. MSCHF even goes for a leather-like box to come with their Rock Candy ring. Users receive the box with a velvet-looking interior, similar to the ones used during proposals. But the elegance of the box both contrasts and complements the packaging of the Rock Candy ring, which recalls visual nuances of their Eat the Rich popsicles.

VS clarity diamond that users can see under a microscope

MSCHF says that their lab-grown diamond for the Rock Candy ring is real. On the other hand, it is VS clarity, or users can see it under a microscope. The piece of jewelry has a round cut, and it sits in the middle of the sterling silver band. For the candy, the design team mixes sugar, light corn syrup, and water. It contains less than two percent of artificial flavors and coloring. On the packaging, it says that the candy gives 60 calories per serving.

MSCHF has yet to share how the sizing works for their Rock Candy ring. So far, the accessory has an open design at the moment, which can help stretch it depending on the circumference of the finger. At the bottom of the hard rock candy lies a silver plate that holds it up. Just below it, MSCHF engraves its name onto the ring’s bridge. At the moment, they’ve sold out the product, which is all set to be delivered on February 14th, in time for Valentine’s Day.
