(SHE / HER)

Mandy is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received her Masters in Social Work degree from the University of St Thomas/St Catherine University. Mandy’s passion for psychotherapy comes from a deep desire to bear witness to people’s triumphs and struggles and help them to find healing. Her interest in perinatal work originated when she began her graduate internship on a women’s health floor at a metro hospital and continued through her work at another area hospital supporting families who experienced admissions to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Mandy volunteered as a board member with Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Minnesota for a number of years before stepping down summer of 2023 to focus her efforts on managing the practice and deepening her knowledge of holistic health offerings.

Specialties

Mandy is an Aproved Consultant and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through EMDRIA and is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2020 and likes to bring the core principles of yoga into her sessions with clients.

Areas of Focus

Mandy sees adults and works with both men & women around a wide range of issues. She supports many birthing people in navigating their transition to parenthood. Her areas of focus include supporting high-risk pregnancies, traumatic births or deliveries, perinatal loss, and infertility.

Treatment Approach

Mandy believes that healing comes from within. With that in mind, she uses therapy styles that emphasize each person’s unique strengths to promote healing and make meaning out of difficult circumstances. She uses her training in EMDR and its theoretical model with most clients as well as concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and mindfulness-based treatment approaches.
